Organizing Your Walk in Closet

My walk in closet was a disaster! So I figured it was time to do something about it. I had thought about the best route to go with it and decided to buy a cube storage system for floor storage and bins on the top self. I removed everything but my clothes. I left them hanging up and removed everything else from my closet.

This is where everything from my closet ended up in my bedroom!!!

I have the standard builder's grade wire shelving in the "L Shape". So we added more wire shelves on the empty wall for towel and shoe storage.

I went to Lowes and bought a six cube storage system and three of the fabric bins to fill the cubes. I only bought three bins to leave the other three open as I had items that would find in there. I also bought white bins and command strips to organize my husband's never ending hat collection. I have a purse collection and struggled to figure out a solution to them instead of putting them in bins at the top out of reach. I solved it by buying shower curtain rings from the Dollar Store and hanging them on my wire shelving.

I even bought kids hangers to hang the dog's clothes! I already had the storage container that I put onto of the cube system. I used it for scarfs, gloves, and other Winter items. Everything that came out of my closet all went back in, but much more organized!

It was not that difficult to do. I did it by myself in one day while my husband was at work. I even put the cube storage together. This also did not cost a lot for me to do. The cube systems are available at many places. The best deal I found was from Lowes. The six cube I bought was $40.00. The storage cube bins were $7.00 and the white bins for the top shelf varied between $6.00 to $10.00. The Shower rings were $1.00 at the Dollar Store. So if you are ready to tackle your walk in closet, Go for it! I'm very pleased to walk into mine every day and have everything in it's place, organized, and easy to find!

  1. Your idea is definitely worth trying! Well, keeping your things organized doesn’t have to be costly, like spending expansively with custom drawers and shelves. I must say that cube storage system is a good choice because of its versatility and the space you can save with it.
